When we received this fan, the packaging looked like it had been opened before. Upon taking inventory, there were parts missing and the base was broken. This may be a great fan, but the crummy condition prevented us from trying it before sending it back for a refund.

Review of: Optimus F-7522 42-Inch 3-Speed Tower Fan with Remote and LCD Digital Display, grey
We used the fan for the first time last night and overall it is a good fan (air mover), however, I cannot highly recommend this product. At $80 I expected a better product as it seems like the $20 difference between this fan and the next lower price point is a remote (a pro) and the display screen with temperature readout (a con). Originally I wanted to rate this as a 3, but since the actual fan part of the fan works great, and it’s just the bells a whistles that annoy me, I gave it a 4. That being said, you should know the following:
Pros:
*It is a fairly quiet tower fan. We replaced an older tower fan and are really happy that this one has a much more acceptable noise factor on all the speeds (low, medium, high).
*It has a room temperature readout. This and the remote are the major reasons we bought this fan, however, the temperature reading is only in °C, and you can’t switch to °F (it does come with a sticker conversion chart you can reference - not really helpful in my opinion - see Cons).
*It has a remote. I like the remote as is has a centrally located on/off button that is easy to find even in the dark (that’s one of the biggest complaints we had with our previous fan remote).
*The air flow is consistent across all speed and, in my opinion, all speeds are what they should be for a low, medium, and high. The low speed is a great speed and is very quiet.
Cons:
*Yes, it has a temperature display, BUT the reading is given in °C. This was quite a shock as there is no way to switch between the two (the instruction booklet is 3 pages, and doesn’t help with this). As I mention above it does come with a conversion chart, so I imagine this confirms there is no way to alternate between °C and °F. Nowhere in the product description is this mentioned - I would not have purchased this model if it had (nothing against °C - but 20°C means nothing to me at o’dark thirty in the morning).
Keep In Minds:
*The front display (see photos I uploaded) is fairly bright and has a few different colors and a spinning object. If you have problems with light when you are trying to sleep, this may be a problem.
*There is some assembly required. You’ll need a Philips head screwdriver and the ability to tighten a screw with a wing-nut type top.
*The fan comes with “Modes” (”Wind” and “Sleep”) which sort of alternate the speed of the fan in a particular pattern (i. e. low speed for 10 seconds, medium speed for 5 seconds, off (yes off for some reason), then low speed again, etc. ). I am very confused by these modes. My husband and I use the fan at night because our bedroom tends to run hot, so we are used to the fan sound. . . when this fan is in one of the modes it is disturbing because you keep hearing the speed changes. We use it without any “Modes” on and it fans the air at a solid flow.
*The product description picture looks a little blue/green in my opinion. The fan we received has a silver/grey body and a black base (see photos). The power cord is white.
